Shifts

Shifts identify when an employee is expected to punch In or Out and how to calculate the punches. For each shift rule, you can define the start and end of the shift as well as the break(s) associated with the shift. For example, you can have a shift that starts at 7:30 AM and ends at 4:00 PM with a 30 minute punched break. After defining the shift rules, you can assign the shift to an employee.

Shifts also allow you to use revision zonesClosedRevision zones allow employees to punch In early or punch Out late but the punch calculates from the set start and/or end of the shift. Punches that fall within a revision zone bypass any punch rounding that may be configured. and lockout zonesClosedLockout zones restrict the employees from punching In too early or Out too late at the clock. Lockout zones are not supported by all clocks. The TouchStation, PC50/PC60, PC100, FR650 and FR700 clocks do not support lockout zones..

For advanced options, Shifts allow you to assign Premium Time Zones and Pay Code Overrides. Premium zones can also be assigned to a Pay Class. If a Premium Time Zone is assigned to both a Pay Class and a Shift, the premium zone assigned to the shift will be used in the calculations.
